Fine Italian Dining in the Heart of Historic Norwich
An Italian restaurant like no other housed in a 16-century building nestled between medieval Elm Hill and Norwich Cathedral in the heart of this historic city.
Trattoria Rustica opened its doors in 1995, owned and run by then newly wed Mario and Raffaella. Both first generations from the land of taste and style with an aim to bring authentic Italian food to Norwich. After a decade or more they have built an enviable reputation for quality Italian food and good service.
They worked with local planning and conservation advisor returning the building to its former glory. The restaurant has been completely and sensitively refurbished. Including the exposing of original flint structural walls and timber beamed ceilings, retuning the area to its original charm and beauty. Beneath the restaurant lies an atmospheric vaulted crypt, built in the 11 century thus pre dating some more better known landmarks.
The medieval ambience combined with an extensive menu of regionally inspired Italian specialities freshly cooked and served in a traditional family style can only make each visit a unique eating experience.
